Covid 19 – Travel information

Greetings from Ios island.
We hope this letter finds you well healthy and safe.

At Island House Hotel and Mare we recognize that these are unsettling times and we assure you the safety and the wellbeing of our team and guests is of utmost importance.

We believe in the joy of travel and that is why we are opening to offer you a nice holiday experience while making sure you feel safe.

In accordance with the latest guidance from the World Health Organization as well as the Greek authorities, Island House applies the follow in order to keep our staff and guests safe and protected.

Cleaning Services

In-depth cleaning and comprehensive disinfecting of the rooms with certified products and steam cleaners.

Frequent disinfection of all public areas and high touch spaces during the day.

Every staff member complies to a mandatory certification of good health and adherence to personal hygiene protocols (mandatory use of face mask, keep distancing, hand cleaning e.c.t)

Reception

Arriving guest will be provided with sanitizers and reception area will be disinfected frequently, there will be a transparent protection plexiglass, on our reception desk, so we can communicate efficiently while being protected.

Avoidance of handshakes. Masks, antiseptics and gloves available

Check out before 11.00 a.m. in order to give us time to disinfect thoroughly. Check in at 03.00 p.m.

When feeling sick stay in your room and call the reception.

Breakfast

Island House is still offering freshly made breakfast with al cart menu. The difference is that this summer you should pre book your breakfast from the previous day and we will advice you at what time you can come and take it, to avoid crowding.

Swimming Pool

Our swimming pool will be operating from 9:30 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. The maximum number of swimmers is 10 (1 swimmer for every 5 sq.m. water surface, 2 meters distance inside the swimming pool.

Be sure to take a cleaning bath before using the swimming pool. Not move the seats and try to keep the distances  (sunbeds, chairs, tables) 2 meters in each direction from people staying in a different room.

Give us the time we need to disinfect the seats, your desk as well as anything else you will use.

Use a towel to cover the surface of the sunbed/seat.

No contact sports in the swimming pool is allowed.

No running, no diving is allowed.

Transfers only upon requests

Our mini van can transfer up to five passengers each time, except you are a family. That means that if with the same boat will arrive more than five guests you might have to wait at the port until the driver is available. In order to avoid delays we recommend you use taxes (we can arrange a taxi for you) or you can rent a small car having the opportunity to explore our little paradise as well! (we can book a car for you or we can send you details of the car companies)

Use of a protection mask is obligatory both by passengers as well as by the driver. Mandatory use of gloves from the driver. Using antiseptic before entering the vehicle is recommended. Driver will avoid handshakes.

Guest Care

We avoid overcrowding in all common areas. Guests are encouraged to complete a fast check in option before arrival.

Hand sanitizer is available in all common areas and we encourage frequent use for staff and guests alike. Masks are available upon request. Infrared thermometer is available at the front desk to conduct temperature checks and employees upon request.

Protecting ourselves and others from Covid-19

Regularly and thoroughly clean your hands with an alcohol-based hand rub or wash them with water and soap at least 20 seconds

Avoid unnecessary contact

Avoid touching eyes, mouth and nose

Cover the mouth with the elbow when coughing and sneezing

Keep at least two meters distance between you and others, especially when coughing and sneezing

Postpone your trip if you have fever and/or respiratory symptoms such as cough or shortness of breath.
